This post will be intergrated with the uper or lower jaw bone and act as the root of the tooth. Later we will place the crown on the post and you will have the permanent replacement for the missing tooth. A deep cleaning is actually a specific procedure performed by the dentist or dental hygienist to treat gum and periodontal disease. It's often completed because a person has not had regular professional cleaning appointments every six months. We will use an instrument called a probe to measure the area around your teeth to see if you have any pocketing (area between the tooth and gum where bacteria will form).Ideally, normal healthy pockets will be no more than 3 millimeters deep. If the pockets are greater than 4 millimeters, you will need a deep scaling and root planing.
